I recently was granted permission to hunt a old home on Snyder Lake in Upstate NY....This home was built in 1784ish. I was not sure what to expect because this was another of the craigslist ad people. Since i started advertising on craigslist 2 months ago i have gotten over 30 properties to hunt!!! I started off around 10 AM and my first signal was a very nice 1884 IH....As soon as i saw it i was satisfied with the days hunt...It could have ended right then, But it DIDNT!! A foot away or so i hit a 1899 IH. My next signal was this small religious pin. Well the homeowner was following me around wishing he could join ( he just had a stroke and is partially paralyzed) So i decided to head out in the back so we could enjoy some shade...It was smoldering hot today. My first signal out back was this other odd shaped religious token. Followed by a 1907 IH. At this point i needed a drink and being as i forgot my cooler i left to run home. Well i talked my wife into joining me to take some pics while i was searching.....(first time in 12 years of marriage she went MD with me). Well....The rest of the day went like the start...coin after coin...I did dig an amazing amount of targets today...(see photos). I hit a nice 1945 Merc in the back field...Shortly after digging the merc i had a problem...I blew the back of my pants out...(eeek photo attached NSFW). Well we headed back out front and i found this cool FORD center cap...(not sure what its off) My first signal was a hole containing a old pocket spill...3 IHs and 2 Wheats...And a 1907 V nickel...I stayed in this basic area for around 1 hour....I dug several more IH's and wheats....Then i got a weird signal at 8 inches...After digging i pulled 2 big square nails out of the middle of the hole...I swept over the hole again...And the signal blew my ears off....I dug down another inch and got the 1917 Merc. Well this is getting long and i have a TON of pics to show you guys....I included a few pics my wife took also.

Oh we heard a gunshot around 3 Pm...5 or 6 minutes later we heard another...Then 3 minutes later another....Now as a hunter and former marine....I can easily tell the difference between a shot that hits a target and one that does not. All 3 of these made contact with something....Well as we were leaving we drove by the trailer park around the corner from where we were hunting....We saw a ambulance parked off the side of the road....Then up a little further we saw around 20 Trooper and sheriff cars...Including 5 detective cars and a swat van. they were spread out throughout the park....But mostly around 1 trailer...guns drawn. So i will watch the news and update as i know more.......It was freaky though.
The last pic is the ring i found in Washington Park yesterday. Sorry if there are too many pics...I will cut it down if you like.

Hey, Halfdime....that's why he blew a hole in his britches....to get some airconditioning! ;D All of that heat built up in his britches and they EXPLODED! LOL

I have to wear jeans when i hunt...If i did not...With the amount i hunt...I would not have knees left. I hunt every day for at least 2 hours. That is alot of knee time.

Thanks for the great replies guys.

I admit it. I'm a jeans guy too, heat or not. I wear jeans to keep the ticks & mosquitoes off my legs. ;D
-MM-
P.S. Haven't had a blowout yet in my jeans though. ;)

You ARE going to find a ton more coins at that location.

By the way, did you ever learn anymore about the trailpark incident?

Wow! Looks like you found a nice place there. Your ad is paying off. I'm trying it down here. Your Ford cap is from a Model T if I remember right. I found one up in Indianapolis and I believe my father told me it was a axle cap or something like that from the old model T Fords! Now all you have to do is find 3 more and then the rest of the car! Nice finds! Enjoyed viewing them. Gotta get stronger britches though LOL.

Great digs and pictures.

Your lead picture (1st picture) is telling on ya! Keep that coil flat (even) with the ground! ;)
SWR....I was hoping no one noticed that....But on the plus side...I was more posing in the pic then detecting...

Let that first pic tell on you all it wants!

The stuff you pull out of the ground is great :o

I notice that you actually tip the coil quite often...

Whatever you're doing it works ;)

Keep up the good work

Dude,

You had a Super Duper Star Spangled Day. I wish I would have more days like that. I only find a little clad here and there. Great idea to advertise on Craigslist. As far as cutting down on the number of pictures that you post, DON'T DO IT. I for one love to see the finds of my friends here on TNet. Thanks for taking us along.

Your wife takes some great pics. Nice picture of a Dragonfly on the flower stem. Hope your whole summer is that productive. Keep up the super Job.

You are right i do tip my coil alot. For a good reason. If i hit a signal the does not reproduce with every swing sometimes i angle my coil and swing it again....on MANY an occasion it helps with the signal on a coin that is not flat in the ground. I do what ever i can to assist me in making nice finds. I am just happy i stepped into some luck this weekend.
