started off the hunt this morning at 26 degrees and strong winds, man it was COLD!!! Even when we were finished at 3pm it was only 33 degrees. I was chilled to the bone, but the finds were coming and I stuck it out.

Hunted with my buddy DiggerDan today and we went knocking doors. Got permission at the very 1st place we stopped at and the first silver of the day was the Niagra Falls pin, it is marked sterling on the back. Got a few wheats, one 1936, rest are 1916-1919. Found a 1907 barber dime that was 3" deep, thought it was clad, nice surprise it wasn't! :laughing9:

Found something I have wanted for a long time in the backyard, a sterling thimble. I have found a lot of thimbles but this is my first one that was sterling. :laughing7: Got a 1899 Canadian dime and 2 injuns....1907 and 1893. Great hunt even with the cold weather!
:hello2:

yep sure is $120 in my book for large 9s in VF condition that is one nice coin you have there

sensantional finds, and you're right the little silver thimble is special. Warm your toes up by the fire while you clean up those goodies. Thanks for sharing.

Wow...nice thimble and Niagra Pin. The Barber isn' t too bad either. :P I found my second oldest coin while it was spitting snow and colder than heck. Funny how the bad weather days bring up some really cool finds.
