Well only thing I can tell you is to turn the sensitivity up a notch. If that isn't possible than maybe you would be better off with the GPP. I had the Garrett and now use the dx1 and I like it even though I found the Garrett to be faster and easier.

Pinpointers are not detectors! They are for close range locating. Most pinpointers will go 1" on a dime. This is normal. If they went further, they would drive you crazy with a constant signal in the hole hand print-2_edited-5.jpg.
 

I just got a sunray xl1 for my xlt, at first I didn't like it, but now after I've used it for a while I like it, but the hand held probes work probably better, but nice having it mounted on the machine.
 

Shadowcat, learn to use your XLT. If you pull the trigger and move it around till you get the shallowest dept reading, the coin will be dead center in the coil. Frank
