Sunken 1905 Russian Warship found

Huge problem there. The ship likely wasn't carrying much of anything. It wasn't sunk, it was scuttled by the crew.
The Petropavlovsk, on the other hand, was reported at the time of loss to be carrying $1.25 million in specie when it was sunk by a mine.
 

Videos are all good, they show in boxes so you have turn that on.

Seems very unlikely to carry $133 billion at today's prices, these numbers on shipwrecks are getting getting out of hand.

A simple question. Is the South Korean company Shinil a privately funded or stock market listed company? That will tell me the valuation reality or fiction.
 

if the wreck is worth any thing at all....Russia can easily claim "sunken military craft act" whereby any and all military wrecks are thought of as "war graves" and can only be salvaged by its country of origin …..

They will probably wait until the salvor brings everything up and then claim it. That's what Spain did to Odyssey Marine Research with the Mercedes wreck.
 

sure let someone else do all the work and spend the cash recovering it all for you --then step in and seize it ...I think once the finders make a public announcement of discovery --that IF the govt involved with it wishes to claim ownership status that they would have to assert their rights right away --before any salvage work is done .,.to wait until after its been salvaged to claim it is "sand bagging" BS in my view ..
 

Just as I thought earlier. Is Shinil a private company or a stock market company. Stock market company looking for shipwrecks!!!

All Treasure Hunters: Always get solid contracts draw up by lawyers before searching for treasure, sunken or buried. If not, you will lose all treasures and your money in recovering it.

I wonder how that would work if someone found an old Phonecian shipwreck. They were an ancient, warlike and seafaring culture, but their territory covered what is now several modern countries. If if was found outside the territorial limits of any of those countries that would be an interesting legal question.

You'd likely see every country in the Middle East filing a claim of ownership of a wreck like that. Plus some overly ambitious insurance companies.
 

When seeking treasures in sunken ship, dealing with foreign countries, hire good lawyers for a solid contract. Money is well worth spend.
