NIce finds! I found a porcelain doll head like yours at an old homesite, along with a teeny toilet ;D . My family raises hogs, that's definately a rodent jaw, maybe a groundhog or whatever that javelina thing might be. Nothing to be concerned about. Happy hunting! Sara

No clue on the Jaw bone, but I sure wouldn't want to get what ever it was in a cornner... ;D

I appreciate the effort with the jawbone ID. Hard to tell by looking at the photo but the inside tip of the big tooth/tusk has an acute but smooth angle. This critter must have been eating wood or rock to shape the tooth like that. There were some other bones along with it, all were small....I'm still researching....

It must be a groundhog or similar rodent then. I just know that I have seen many like that around, and we have plenty of groundhogs and possum here. I guess possums have jaws similar to canines, even though they are marsupials...form fits function...they have a similar diet to dogs and whatnot. Interesting that a rodent would have such massive teeth...
