Hi everyone. Got out to a bunch of new spots all day Sunday (12 hr hunt!!). Found a few more goodies and a mystery surprise as well.
Sunday goodies:
4 silver dimes (3 Roosevelts '56d, '58d, '64d; 1 Canadian '56)
sterling religious medallion
11 wheats (teens- '50s; not pictured)
Clad totaled $7.25
Mystery surprise is a badly worn/corroded disk about the size of a nickel (just a teeny bit smaller and thinner possibly due to severe pitting/corrosion). No details are visible on it, but if I keep it wet and shine a strong light directly on it, I can see what MIGHT be the faint impression of a date (looks like 4 small numbers at the six o'clock position). Wishful thinking on my part has this pegged as a shield nickel, which would be REALLY weird, as all other digs in the area where it was found are post WWII. Again, it's currently impossible to tell what it is for sure...
Anyway, I'm now up to 33 silver coins for the year. Pics are below. As always, enjoy.
NOTE: I didn't take a pic of the mystery item, as there really isn't any discernible detail and my webcam doesn't take the most hi def pics. If anyone wants pics of it, just let me know and I'll post a few.
