I haven't posted pics of my first go at metal detecting this past Sunday. I did the bottom half of my backyard and found a bunch... Of nails.... Two pennies (one being a 1951 wheat and bent :BangHead:) and a 1961 tarnished nickel and a couple of oddities. Although I didn't find awesomeness, I had a blast and can't wait to do the rest of my yard and many others to come!!! So here's my findings.

Its good that you are getting the trash out. Now when you go back over it a different direction you will find more stuff. And you have your own private place. Congrats on the finds!

Your on the right path... good job. The finds get better and better as you learn your machine. Good Luck:thumbsup:

looks like a good start. It took me a long time to find a clad coin when I first started. But I was using a cheapo radio shack machine that made me dig everything lol.-HH

Just fun to be out there hunting! Keep removing all the iron and trash and you will open up the area for the hidden goodies!

Keep digging buddy, your soon to be hooked, when you see that silver in the hole.

Welcome your bit the bug Good post!!

Looks like a great day to me! Yesterday I got stuck in the rain for an hour and didn't find anything :laughing7:

Hey Hunter, I think I am your neighbor. I believe I saw you out hunting in your yard. I was going to stop but was not sure if you were actually detecting or just looking for some pipe. Anyway, let me know and I will stop and show you some of the things I found in our area. Maybe we can go together sometime. John

Thanks guys! I'm going to hit my backyard again and keep practicing.

UnderMiner, sorry you got stuck in the rain... But atleast you got some fresh air :)

Peteacher, pm me. You live in MD?
