I'm in Western Washington and I'm planning on taking a 10 day trip this summer to Western Montana. I've been before, hit a couple spots on the way but unfortunately my last trip got interrupted. I'm planning to hit a few rockhounding spots and was looking for some gold spots. Not looking for specifics, I can do the research, just looking for the best bang for my time. I wouldn't mind hitting a few old mines, sluicing, and metal detecting. Anyone point me in a general direction? I'll be traveling through eastern Washington, northern panhandle of Idaho, and Western Montana as far a Helena.

I really don't have a trip itinerary just to make it there and back in 10 days.

Thanks for the input....

I was offered a free access to a friends property (Idaho ) that had a River running the length of his (private property ) land BUT unfortunately I had to turn it down because of being a F.O.G. and not able to do the physical moves needed in dredging or moving the equip. around to the river. BUT I have had great memories of my time and with the great people I meet along to way! I'm envious of your up coming trip and hope you the BEST memories!:hello2:
