Took these the other day. This one played nice and posed a bit.

Can you catch them and turn them into pets? Is it possible and is it legal?
Hi. You can't catch your own but can buy them. Our family had one that was my grandmothers but long story it was neglected so I arranged for it to go to the zoo.
Funny story from detecting. I was working an area in the Pyrenees ranges here for a couple of weeks finding some nice gold in the old diggers throw out heaps along a small lead at the base of the range. Huge tall gumtrees where the cockatoos love the nest and gather in large numbers. They are our number 1 noisiest bird. So each time im there to hear the signals properly id bang the tree trunk next to me with my pick and yell at them to stop.
This has gone on each time im there, 15, 20 times each day.
It was an out of the way spot that hardly anyone knew about. 1 small overgrown track in, no others. Lets say day 10, I think I hear a voice, take my headphones off, listen, nothing. Few minutes later, hear it again, listen...... nothing. Hear it again but a bit louder so off with the headphones and there is a voice loud and clear. But I notice its coming from above me in the huge gumtree! Over that time, I used to swear a lot back then about 25yrs ago I don't now, that 10 days of hitting the trees and yelling I was yelling at them to f* off. From above me in the tree about 40 feet up was a cockatoo saying f* off at me over and over! I was dumbfounded!
They learn to talk really easy and this one took notice and learnt what id been saying. I guess I deserved it 😂
