Klondike here...
I had a chance to speak with my wife tonight, in detail, concerning her knowledge of how the DFG works and operates... below is her suggestions...as the correct way to fight this moratorium...
My wife worked for the CA DFG.. Wild Life Resources Department for 24 years, maybe even closer to 25... and in the same office........ and I am relating some suggestions she has asked me to deliver to those interested in fighting for the prospectors in California....
Mr. Stopher is actually a nobody with very limited powers.... he is a manager... not a law maker..... He has a boss.. and his boss has a boss (The Regional Manager) and that boss reports to the Director DFG in Sacramento... Stopher's kingdom is ONLY the very most Northern Counties of CA....
Go to: http://www.dfg.ca.gov/ for all names, official titles and info ...
She suggested that when writing Mr. Stopher.. to CC EVERYONE in the food chain of management.. all the way up to the Director...and to include a CC to the local Legislators.... and the Governor... and the National Congress men and women...
Then start writing to each individual on the food chain list with their name as TO..Dear.XXXXXXXXXand and CC everyone else...
So in short, it will take several letters to cover everyone in the management chain....just from one person...
She also said... most DFG offices have inside rules that require the managers to READ all incoming POSTAL MAIL.. whereas, a FAX isn't met with equal zeal...the best way to make sure your letter is read.. is FAX it to everyone in the chain...personalized to them...and follow up with Postage Paid mail letter...
She said, after seeing successful campaigns for and against many issues in her 24 years... this strategy seems to work the best to get DGF manager's attention...
Again.. I will suggest you GPAA and LDMA members need to let the GPAA know how you feel about the way they are handling these issues... Maybe a boycott is in order... I don't know.... but you need to get their attention... But I do know Buzzard would roll over in his grave if he could see what was going today with the GPAA...and playing an old video of George...for minute here and there on the Outdoor Channel, saying EXACTLY what you guys are trying to do won't cut it...
Good Luck...
