Took advantage of the nice day by taking off work and getting back to the newly found colonial farm field site. Got a big whatsit at the top of the picture as well as some other typical colonial finds including a nice etched tombac button. Eventually got on another George II Hibernia copper as well. I then wandered about 50 yards away from concentration of finds and hit a banging coin like signal around 27 on the Nox. You can understand my shock when out popped a beauty of a 1764 1 Real.:headbang: My first ever 1 real of this variety. I promptly headed to the truck knowing Ill probably not top this coin all year

I thought the same thing - broken sword hilt

Maybe. I did find the shell guard to an 18th century German hunting sword at another site years ago. So smaller swords were in use

Super crisp coin... I always call one like that a banner.

Stellar finds... well done.

What's not to like about a hunt like that!!! Great finds, all of them

Great hunt. That real is in awesome condition. Love the sword handle too.

Love the group photo! That is a beautiful collection of artifacts.

Stunning...like it was dropped yesterday...congratulations!

Thanks. It was found on high ground with good drainage and the soil here is unusually kind for a farm field. Helps that it was probably dropped not too long after arriving from Peru

Amazing finds. How much of the site have you covered so far?

I think Ive got most of the stuff from the site itself. Usually takes me 2-3 hunts to feel confident about that. Could still be more isolated finds like this real further from the main area. Hopefully but not likely Ill find another site on the property Its at least 100 acres

That a top shelve one for sure, right pretty it is, congrats.

Spanish silver...Way to go!
