Saturday dawned bright and sunny, very excited as we went to a field I have wanted to do since we started detecting, finally the sheep are off it and the electric fence is gone. This field had a Tithe Barn on it so was curious to see what we would find.

I found this gorgeous lead weight, (217 grams) totally love it, I know you all like the coins, but for me, this is my dream find!
Found loads of these chunky nails, have added a musket ball to give you an idea of the size, the big one weighs 207 grams.
A little Be Prepared badge, 2 more chunky bits of lead (?) Musket balls, Bobbin shot, and some other bullets. A teaspoon, clock key and bit of metal plate, buttons and a solitary coin ( no ID yet) xx

Another stunning field to spend the day in, so took pics for you xx 😆

Update… the coin is George 2nd Halfpenny 1729-1754!! Nice!! 😆 xx

Well that fits perfectly with the late Medieval Weight (generally referred to as Trade Weights), you could speculate that yours was used to weigh some of the Tithe grain etc.

The nails are Roman.
The key is an 18th/19th C Barrel Tap Key. Often used by the person controlling the workers in the fields, so they didn't drink too much.
A tap key...very cool...drink was enjoyed and in moderation...a draft Guinness please!

Awesome Blossom! The rainbow pic is surreal-looking. You could sell that shot for inspirational posters. What beautiful country. Thanks for sharing the finds. The key is my favorite
Ah thank you, we were driving home so just took the pic out the truck window, wasn’t actually sure how it would come out, but have to say I think it captured the light beautifully! this is the whole pic before I cropped it! xx
