I had the honor to save a stunning piece of american history. My passion is early american coins & relics, and this takes the cake for me. We were water hunting one of our favorite sites. It's a 300 year old river crossing. Before this hunt the site has produced a 1725 Half Real Cob, Multiple King Charles Half Reales, 1711 Quarter Cut 2 Reales, a few Colonial Coppers (KGI's, KGII's), Multiple Buckle Pieces, and Colonial Buttons. I finally scored a Cast Pewter Continental Army USA Button! The water preserved it beautifully. It takes my breath away every time i look at it. Front and Back it blows my mind.

Great find, congratulations! :occasion14:

Iam gonna mention it . It looks like it may not be old. The back looks questionable.

Spectacular. My only complaint is I wasn't present to see it in the floaty basket... Easy banner my friend, well done.

That is a really sweet looking button. I am green because I have yet to find a rev war button and that one is a real beauty. I always like the videos you folks make. Way to go and keep swingin.

Nice find I am subscribed to your channel and already watched the video.

Great find Kurt! It'll be hard to top that one! You should pop by here more often. You guys make some killer finds and not everyone here watches videos. I'm sure they would love to see what comes from Gold Beach and Coin Beach. Personally, I love your videos. Keep up the great work!

Maybe you should expand on that statement rather than leave us all hanging with your secret knowledge about Revolutionary War buttons. Most of these USA buttons that you have seen come out of the ground and are badly deteriorated. This button was protected from being in the water since it was lost over 230 years ago. It is likely one of the best condition Continental Army buttons we have ever seen on TNET. No brainer Banner find.

Killer find, and really love the videos.
I'll download a bunch from several hunters, and binge watch at one sitting.
You and a few others consistently post well made, well edited videos.
Quality vids, great quality humor, and fantastic quality finds.
Kudos on a serious banner worthy historic find.
Carl

No need to get all prickily. To me the lack of the characteristic mold seam on pewter buttons (and USA buttons) is not present and the shank do not look right to me and Iam not an expert. However those reasons and the preservation make me question it’s age.

I saw the videos last night Kurt and was just amazed. Awesome find there. You all had great finds. That water holds some real treasure.

Gotta love those pewter out of the water! :occasion14: ...and get that puppy in a case and don't handle it anymore.

i have no doubt that it is real, i have found many pewters in good shape and bad, this is 1700s made, i voted banner as well

I commented on your video yesterday, but need to do so again. That is an amazing recovery.

I'll second what others have said as well, your videos are so much fun to watch, with quality finds and great filming/editing. Keep doing what you guys do!!!!!!!
