What makes you think it has something to do with cigarettes?Is there something we can't see in the pictures?

its the barrel section off a toy two shot derringer --it used to have 2 plastic bullets that you put a "cap" tore off a roll onto and put them in and close that action and pop - pop two shots --then you used the slide on the side to push up the "shells" for reloading ...

From a brief research, most sites says this cap gun is from the 1960s, I did see one that said 1950s, but I didn't see any site that documented the dateline with proof, I would say 1960s sounds right.


Edit: I found a page from a online toy book that dates the Hubbley Dagger Derringer to 1958...here's a link to the book page, second toy down on left side of the page.
