I currently have 50 Wheaties, I was curious about what years I find most of. I was pleasantly surprised to find out that it was the year 1919 with 6, then 1920 + 1944 both with 4 each. Below is the years that I have found so far this year starting on March 8th. What years do you find most? Also, I only found 1 "S" Wheaties, weird...

Hey tF, by far 30's and 40's for me. The most productive wheatie site I ever hit brought nearly a hundred wheats in a few days, it was parkway that had been turned over for several blocks. In that area, the vast majority was pre-1920 with lots of IH's also. It had been a parade route during that period. Got some sweeet silver there too!
 

I tend to find a good mix of teens and twenties with lot's of 30's and 40's with some 50's.I keep searching for a mint steel war penny....... :tongue3:
 

Top wheat years for me, definately 1944 and 1956. Big production years.

Mikelb, you'll want to hunt in all-metal mode if you want to find those steel cents. Good luck...

I went hunting with Tman yesterday and he pulled 7 wheaties out of one hole, all the wheaties where in the 40s and it looked like one of them was a steel penny :o . I scanned it with my detector and all I got was a null signal :tard: . That lucky dog! :icon_pirat:
