Went out beach detecting today to test out my ace 250 water-proofed.
Went in the water but I'll need to get some water-proof headphones, couldn't hear anything :BangHead:
So I went onto the dry sand, first I found 10 cents, I was like "OK" and moved on.
Then the second signal I got was this strange piece of jewellery.

It weighs 14 grams, has a strange rock in it, and could possibly be .925 silver.
The part at the end which usually has a hallmark is broken of so I might have to get an acid kit to see what exactly this is.
When I got home, I cleaned it up and looked under a microscope.
It don't think it's plated, It looks hand made and very nice as well as the metal looks silver coloured everywhere.
It dose pull a magnet but it seems to be scratched very easily.
Apart from that, I only found $1.30 in change, couple of pull tabs, foil and a 1 cent piece (no longer in circulation).

Any of you have any ideas of what this could be?

Congrats on your finds! It maybe a pendant of some sort.

I don't know what it is except a beautiful piece of jewelry, that stone is so cool looking. Heck, I can't even tell you what kind of coins those are. How did your waterproofing job turn out? That's correct in my thinking, that you waterproofed your Ace 250, you also must be in some warm climate or you are outfitted with wet/dry suit?
Nice finds.

I live in Australia so it's quite hot, get up to 40 Celsius.
The water proofing seems to be successful apart from 1 or 2 tiny drops.
Here's a picture of my detector:

Also made a cheap sand scoop, only paid about $4 for the container, the rest I had.
Works pretty well.

Nice to see some Aussie coins! For those not familiar, the twenty cent piece shows a platapus, the ten cent shows a lyre bird. The stone in the ring is an opal, most likely from coober pedy.

I was a believer until the line "it does pull a magnet " this would disqualify it for silver - I would like to see some more photos of the stone/s .
