✅ SOLVED Strange military button.... I think!

I hope this is not an average coat button. It is 1" across and thick! Found in a Colorado ghost town. This website has me looking over my buttons. Another one (not this) was a GAR button in with my common ones. I thought it was just a plain one. Love the knowledge. Thanks for looking!!

Well, after a couple of hours poking around on the internet, I'm still scratching my head a bit. Here are my best two guesses, perhaps someone else can chime in to see if I'm on the right track:

Guess #1: General Belisarius of the Byzantine empire. Here are some photos:
