I found this in my dirt floor basement about 18 inches deep. I live in an old colonial house in New Jersey. The house was associated with an Iron Works, and a battle during the American Revolution. It is light, and flat on the back side, while slightly curving on the side with the lettering. Thanks for any ideas you can give. Some have suggested it might be a name plate for something. The curved end also has a small hole punched through it.
