I finally figured out how to set up a discrimination program in my new E Trac. I took various CW Bullets that I have found with my Safari and stored them in my E Trac giving them a larger square area in the Smart Screen for some elbow room. But then I get to my normal hunting grounds where I always find two to three good dropped minie balls but found nothing with the E Trac. So I burried a bullet about 6 inches down and swept over it with the E Trac. It barely gave a signal and showed up in the smart screen. Scanned it with Safari in pre set relic mode and no problems. Went back over the same area with Safari and found 3 minie balls. I know there is a learning curve but I wouldnt figure it would be that much. Anyone else have same issues?

Programs almost always = Too much discrimination! They are hype, forget em, turn your disc. down, and dig.

I agree, I am starting to feel the same way. I think I am just going to stick with my Safari.

The E-trac is probably still better, just use it the simple way... low disc. and moderate sens..

Would you recommend to hunt in low or high trash. If you hunt in low trash does it take longer to recover from a target hit? Just wondering. I see you use the explorer and I know they are similar. Thanks for the help.

I could write this all down for you, but it's so much easier for me to explain over the phone.
Call me.
It looks like your getting a little overwhelmed here.

Better to call 4-H. I'm sure the Explorer and Safarie are very similar in some ways, but company created disc. programs is something I would be no help on.
