This afternoon I was walking around a lake that gets drained every year. I was walking around looking for native American points in the mud and rocks. when I stumbled upon a little round stone with four holes in it and its concave on one side. Im positive its not metal. I'm just curious of what it is, it deffinantly not natural. Thanks in advance - Justin

Some of that version of 4-hole button were made of "hard rubber"... so since you say it is not made of metal, that's what it's got to be. (Not stone.) Larger ones have been found with the marking "Goodyear's Patent 1851."

Thank you for the input cannonball guy. But I don't believe it's hard rubber I have a couple goodyears buttons in my collection. The button in question is a lot harder then the hard rubber and is very crudely made. Here are some photos in comparison.
