Still waiting on the fields to be cut and the snakes to go and hide. But we did manage to get out a couple two or three times and while away a few hours.
First pic of finds are from several weeks or so ago...the folks were having a swimming pool installed and we found a few keepers from there. A buckle, tax token of course, and a 1946 rosie.

Next hunt, we made the rounds to see what had been cut. Two of three fields were in the process of being cut, but the field we wanted to be in is sort of a waste field and the owner doesn't spend a lot of time keeping it cut. He arrived there just before we did and the usual question from him was, "You girls out prospecting today?" :D We told him that we were just making the rounds and came by to see if field 'a' had been cut. He instructed us to chase down the worker he had and get him to cut where we needed. ;D What a great guy he is! Well we did...and he did.

Only problem was....we didn't think about it needing to be bailed, so we were kinda walking around in piles of grass hoping we didn't step on a snake. :P Sure did appreciate him taking the time to cut it tho. :)
Left there and went down to the Mulberry river. Nothing there but the view. It was a nice one...

Several days later, next hunt. An old site across the dirt road from the fields. Ended up with a tax token, a button, my first dollar coin (thought I had found an old token at first sight), and something with Ford A on it. Seems to be made of lead? :icon_scratch:
Last Wednesday we went back to the fields. They had finished up with one of them and we settled there for a couple of hours.

Ended up with three wheats, 20's 30's and 40's, a five cent tax token and the normal aluminum tax tokens and an AJ Tower button.

Also found this strange rock? :dontknow: When I first got the signal and dug the hole I had seen what I thought was a neat looking rock, but after checking the hole again, the signal was gone. Sure enough, it was coming from the rock. What could this be?

Leaving that afternoon, we came upon this pretty site...Lucky for us Lisa had her camera within reach and got some great pictures.....

Nice finds and story Bama Nana!!! The "Queen of Tax tokens ' strikes again. Did those tokens apply to sales taxes or what? The day of the snake for this year is just about over.
You and Lisa need to chip in and buy the farmer a gallon of 2-4-D to spray those weeds. It will definitely help the relic hunting. Very interesting "hot rock". HH.

Great finds!! The pic's are nice.

Those are Beautiful photos! :icon_sunny: The harvest is coming soon.

Thank you for sharing your adventure with us,

Buckles

Wow I bet you had fun on this detector outing. Can't wait to get together for a big hunt. Congrats on the finds.

Thanks, ya'll!!

Thanks, Nattie! And you had your running shoes on just in case, I'm sure? :D

:D Hey, RR...I told one of the owners last week that if he would give me instructions on how to run that machine, I'd have it all cut in no time! :D He said he'd be afraid I'd die trying! :tongue3:

Thanks, Jer! The only thing I see on the buckle is 'Pat Appl'd for'... so I assume not silver.

Thanks, Brad! ;D Yes, they were for sales tax. And yes, I'll be sooo happy when the fields are cut and those snakes are gone!

Thanks, HH! :)

You're too kind, Allen! Thanks a bunch. :)

Thanks, Buckles. :) We're having to wait a little longer than usual for cutting as it has rained every other day here for months. :-X

Thanks, Burdie!! You are NOT going to believe what I came across yesterday here! You remember showing me from a distance the hedge apples there? WELL...seems we have them here as well! :D I've never seen them here till yesterday. And I hadn't a clue what they were. I seem to have recalled the hedge apple as being smooth and round and not bumpedy. Looked it up, and sure enough was a hedge apple. Those things are HUGE! I'd hate to be standing under that tree when they fall off. :o

Here's a short clip from the Mulberry river. We went by there yesterday looking for a new site. I love this place! After all the rain we got last night, I bet it was really going today!

Aw. Sorry you're sick, BB. :-\ Hurry and get better! It's getting hunting time! Thank you so much for the kind reply. :)

Could be Sand. :dontknow: I guess this would be the first hot rock I've dug. :P :D

Thanks!! Nana :)

Wow now just slice that up and make a pie with it Nana. :laughing7: Then find some low down individual and give it to them. :tongue3: Now I know Alabama has pretty women and hedge apples can't beat that.

Burdie

Hot rock, I find plenty in the river

Bet them deer wanted to know what you were doing out there :laughing7: WTG on getting some special treatment on cutting the field. That's what I call Service :o Nice digs too, Nana. The crops are still hanging around up here too ::)

Good hunting..and great pics. As soon as those fields get chopped on...I bet I know whee you're goin'
