Still waiting on the fields to be cut and the snakes to go and hide. But we did manage to get out a couple two or three times and while away a few hours.
First pic of finds are from several weeks or so ago...the folks were having a swimming pool installed and we found a few keepers from there. A buckle, tax token of course, and a 1946 rosie.

Next hunt, we made the rounds to see what had been cut. Two of three fields were in the process of being cut, but the field we wanted to be in is sort of a waste field and the owner doesn't spend a lot of time keeping it cut. He arrived there just before we did and the usual question from him was, "You girls out prospecting today?" :D We told him that we were just making the rounds and came by to see if field 'a' had been cut. He instructed us to chase down the worker he had and get him to cut where we needed. ;D What a great guy he is! Well we did...and he did.

Only problem was....we didn't think about it needing to be bailed, so we were kinda walking around in piles of grass hoping we didn't step on a snake. :P Sure did appreciate him taking the time to cut it tho. :)
Left there and went down to the Mulberry river. Nothing there but the view. It was a nice one...

Several days later, next hunt. An old site across the dirt road from the fields. Ended up with a tax token, a button, my first dollar coin (thought I had found an old token at first sight), and something with Ford A on it. Seems to be made of lead? :icon_scratch:
Last Wednesday we went back to the fields. They had finished up with one of them and we settled there for a couple of hours.

Ended up with three wheats, 20's 30's and 40's, a five cent tax token and the normal aluminum tax tokens and an AJ Tower button.

Also found this strange rock? :dontknow: When I first got the signal and dug the hole I had seen what I thought was a neat looking rock, but after checking the hole again, the signal was gone. Sure enough, it was coming from the rock. What could this be?

Leaving that afternoon, we came upon this pretty site...Lucky for us Lisa had her camera within reach and got some great pictures.....

Wow Nana, it sure sounds like you found a bunch of good living, and some keepers along the way. :icon_thumright: Great post.

Good hunting Nana. Glad you're able to get out. I like the little token with the star on it. I found one of those this spring.

I like the venison pics too. :D

Where the heck did you find that blue sky and sunshine? :icon_scratch: :icon_sunny:

Good Luck
Randy

Nice deer hunt anyway. Happy Hunting.........

Nana,
You must have some pull out there. When you find a field, people cut it right then for you. ;D I better wear my dress next time and see if that works for me. I hate shaving my legs though. :-\ Congrats on the finds. Those dollar coins always throw me off too. Thanks for the great pictures. Some beautiful scenery.

The Rock looks like it has fusion on it,if you know anyone who could check it,i would do so,it has sparkles and im thinking possibly a meteorite fragment.
if it did turn out to be so,documenting where it was found with gps makes it more valuable.

The rock could be an Indian tool. Meteorite would be rounder

Hey MM,don't worry 'bout those legs,NANA doesn't shave hers.
Nana, you always find the neat stuff and adventures.I'm really proud of the way you have mastered that mxt. :thumbsup:Did you hunt in that Smith Lake deal?

your rock looks like granite with alot of iron in it. I find them all the time up here. nice finds, it looks like you have been very busy.

Thanks ya'll! :)

I don't think this rock is a meteorite. It's very light. Just the odd shape and the fact that it made the detector go off caught my attention. :icon_scratch:
Rob....I can count on one hand how many times Charlie has mowed the lawn in thirty years. :tongue3: :D

And don't listen to WSDaddy, MM. I DO shave my legs for special occasions! ;D :D Just don't forget to smile!

Going to make the rounds. Ya'll have a great day! :-*

Nana~

OH...and no, I didn't hunt the Smith Lake hunt. I did go for a bit, but didn't hunt. Went there hoping someone would have tables set up selling stuff (like maybe a shovel that I can't seem to win), but I think because of the weather there weren't any. :-\

Nice job on the finds Nana! Checking out your post was worth it for the pics alone..makes me wish I was there in the nice southern air :icon_sunny:

The deer pic is great, I videoed 4 does and a button buck about the same size yesterday in my area, one of them came so close I thought she was gonna charge :o Luckily she took off with the others after about 6 minutes of watching them.
