Hi. I'm new to Treasure.net. With all the rules against metal detecting on beaches and inland areas, I can't figure out WHERE its legal to go! Can anyone help me out? I'd appreciate it. I'm interested in Massachusetts, Connecticut and Rhode island. Thanks, Stick22

Welcome Aboard Stick! You didn't list your state (or country) in your profile. So, you might consider jumping over to Sub-Forums: Select Your Area.... for information (i.e., clubs, hunts, finds, legends, maps, etc.) directly related to your state (or country) as well as the States you are interested in...

Welcome to the forum from Massachusetts!

Welcome Stick22! Most beaches are open for hunting, and a great way to know you are safe to hunt is if you get permission -- either by the owner of private property or from some government agency (like city hall, school superintendent, or park ranger).

For information on Connecticut in particular, look into Connecticut

For Massachusetts, look into Massachusetts

And for Rhode Island, look at posts on Rhode Island

You'll find a lot of help here on metal detecting, getting permissions, possible sites, identifying and cleaning your finds, and all sorts of other things. Welcome!

Welcome to the forum from Virginia! Check to see if there are clubs in the area you are looking to hunt and also check to see if there is a town or city website for where you want to hunt and search that for anything noting the areas that might not allow or restrict Metal Detecting. Good Luck!
