Skywatcher found this on the side of the road pinned to a hat a few years ago.? Anyone know the age and anything else about these wings?? He finds good stuff on the road sometimes- a chainsaw in a case, a digital camera (which works)......
They do have "sterling" on the back-

hi all..
Arerial Gunner I think...established April 29, 1943..bombardier has target behind it. and fins on the bomb this has "wings"....
these wings are common on the collector market...about 40-80$ I think depending catch, maker, feather pattern on wings...quite a few varieties of bombardier wings out there.
"The Army Air Forces in World War II had a wide variety of wings and badges to signifiy qualifications and standings. Most of the badges were available in the standard 3" size for use on the tunic and the 2" shirt size which were worn when the shirt was the outer garment. You'll often hear the 2" size referred to as "sweet heart" wings since so many were sent home to loved ones. "
see here for more info... http://www.ww2wings.com/wings/usaaf/usaafgunner.shtml

These wings are 3" and the only marking I can find on the back is the word "sterling".
