Why has there been no one posting about the new Garrett Axiom Garrett's New PI (Pulse Induction) Detector, I am sure there are some out there that have purchased one, I cannot be the only one, I finally purchased one of the new Axioms and I will say it is a very good PI, very deep also
Mine is being shipped.

We need an Axiom category. I have been using the Axiom for more than a year. Field testing shows it is very similar the a MineLabs 6000 in performance. I have been in the field on an archaeology project and found deep (22") targets with the Axiom using the 16" mono coil that no other detector could hear. I've also seen instances of where the Axiom target response was somewhat weak, while a MineLabs 6000 was clear, and vice-versa. The two detectors seems to have some different abilities depending upon either their timing or coil design.

Will the Axiom help me get deeper than let's say the Manticore? I've had a few super finds in my yard a Tombac button, 2 lead pewter buttons, and a colonial knee buckle. Maybe that was all that was there to find? Just wondering if a PI detector would get me more depth. Don't want to waste money if PI won't help.

Thanks...

Don't forget that PI detectors are all basicaly NON DISCRIMINATION / ALL METAL detectors and that you are getting / digging EVERY target.. I don't know the price of this beast, but I would not buy a new detector to try and find 1-2 more buttons in my yard.. Some people might.
From personal experience my XP DEUS II goes so deep on the beach that I have had to leave targets because I couldn't find them. I use a short handled shovel on the beach and its generally easy digging BUT if I have to go into a hole repeatedly to try to find a target that keeps beeping off only to find a pull-tab at 15 inches... it gets old..
So be careful for what you wish for !! hahaha

Thanks Torrero, I thought it might just be a waste of money. None of the videos I've watched really give an answer either way if PI is really deeper than VLF or good for relic hunting. You bring up a good point on chasing targets only to find a pull tab.

For $4000 I personally wouldn't be a buyer solely for digging in a former homesite.

Have you tried the relic or deep conductor settings yet?

On relic I have dug some deep stuff.
Rotted Headstamp at 11"+.
Heavy clay/pasture.

Yeah, relic works really good away from home. Neighbor's dog fences keep me from using anything but Deus Mono at home. Those fences give Deus FMF way too much EMI. Sadly, deep conductor is the same. Away from the dog fences they work very well.

I'll stick with the Impact with IM40 large coil and deep mode. Works well, just heavy to swing. I most likely found everything there was to find here at home. I probably got really lucky to have found the old pieces I found here anyway. Nothing on my property going back to the 1850 maps, but the property was owned by the 1820's home across the street from 1850's through early 1960's.

if your ground is highly mineralized yes a PI will get better depth, but if not you are better off with a VLF, because of the Discrimination

This machine appears to be (according to the website) a HOT gold machine as a pulse induction, IF true it might be the HOLY GRAIL of detectors for beach hunting..
I've always wanted a beach machine that could get gold chains and bracelets and gold earrings and such, but could work good in salt water sand... Seems that is what they are advertising...

P.S.
Something else I will tell you, I've your not digging small gold chains on the beach its probably because your detector can't pick them up, no matter what you believe.. Few machines can get small gold on Salt Water sand beaches..

I do know there are some that uses the Axiom on a beach, me personally I use my Axiom to hunt for nuggets but I only use it when the ground is to hot for a VLF or ground that has to many hot rocks to deal with, and yes I detect on some ground that has a ton of hot rocks and is to mineralized that it makes using a VLF almost impossible
