sterling silver pin/ maybe medal

searched this morning at a couple of empty house lots. found about .65 cents in clad. 1 1940s wheatie, a button, i think.. has some early 1900s " patent years" and the # 30 on top of it??? big find for today is a sterling silver pin.... maybe u guys will have some insight to I.D. it. thanks for looking. HH. last 3 pics are earlier cleaned finds. possibly some sort of cross???

I would say it was a medal. The two holes on the bottom probably held another piece to it. :icon_thumright:
 

It appears to be a army sharpshooter badge....there are several different items that can be attached to it. Do a search on the same name to find it.

It certainly is an Army Sharpshooters Badge and it's an older one because of the Sterling content. :thumbsup:
 

the first one is a sharpshooters badge, fairly old with the pin back like that. there are little pieces that hang under it with different weapons on them. pistol, rifle, grenade etc.....
 

Army marksman badge.The bar that is missing would say expert or sharpshooter.
 

Might be a war medal,nice finds keep it up the older stuff will come :icon_thumright:
