Well found my first sterling silver ring this year. Very unexpected find, been there before with my other machine, but never hit it. Found some clad too 1980 through 1998

Gonna clean it an straighten it on my mandle after while. Looks like the ones I make, now to try an figure out what the stone is. Looks red under that faded white. Guess ill just be careful with the stone, I have a polisher might polish it real lightly, any suggestions? I silversmith so I know about the metal, stone just looks fragile. Looks maybe like an agate. Like the one you see the carvings in of women's faces, can't think of the name. Sorry for going on an on, little excited about this one. My minelab startin to pay off.
Ill post more pics after while gonna clean it an see what happens... Stay tuned

Got it straight, now for the wash.

That's very nice - Certainly Navajo influence if not manufacture - as evidenced by the split shank , the ornamental surround of the bezel ,
and the stamped designs on the ring shank .

Thanks. I like it. This is it after cleaning it. Put a drop of olive oil on the stone an it turned from white to pink instantly.

I think it's an agate stone. Probably red laced agate. Could see layers in the stone. Looks pretty good now

Scratch that, it's not agate....

Beautiful find. Congratulations.

Nice find

Sent from my iPad using TreasureNet

Very nice find. You did a very nice job cleaning it up and bringing it back to its full colour. Hope you have more great finds like this one. HH

The stone might be a variety of coral - It also could be spiny oyster - both of these have been used in sterling settings in the Southwest
(the ring was likely made in Albuquerque or Santa Fe areas )

I believe its coral one of my rings has coral that color.

Very nice first silver ring find! Congrats...:icon_thumleft:

Thanks! Yea could be coral. I was thinking she'll now

Cursed predictive text. Shell not she'll. kinda like the queen Victoria necklaces, I forget what they're called.

Cameo that's it. Same stuff I think. Now to keep my wife from wearing it. Ill just make her one like it this winter so she won't be eyeing mine. Stone is not in good shape, it would probably fall apart the first week.

Congrats on your first sterling ring, it's a nice one!

Beautiful ring! Congratulations! H Digs!

Nice ring find! I found a few pennies today that were roached like that one. The ground is not nice to newer Lincolns.
