I was off of work last week, and managed to get out a little bit with Smittyman.

He had some secret permissions lined up for us. He lies to the other guys about this, but that does not bother me.

The find of the week was this Hickok Beltogram. Made in the 1920s or 30s, it went over a narrow belt, and you could clip our pocket watch to it.

After a toothbrushing with baking soda, it shines like new.

Last pic is from the internet, showing a Beltogram in action!

Two other notable items were an Alabama tax token, which we do not often see in NC. And this coat button, it says "Paul Nagel Berlin" on the reverse. I believe it to be a WW1 German button... can anyone confirm?

Thanks for looking and best of luck on your hunts!

I really like the look of that button CT....and that's a really cool piece of silver with a neat hisyiry

Awesome Tom! It appears to have been separated from its pocketwatch by force. Maybe the watch is still in the area too? Super find. Sub 8-)

About 15 ft. from the fob, I found a pocket watch body. It was from the Rockford Watch Co, and according to the internet (serial number decode), it was made in 1910. Unfortunately, it was NOT silver!

Sweet finds Tom, I am hearing the twilight zone music after reading about the button. I am a "Nagel", and who know's :dontknow: Could I be related to Paul Nagel? :dontknow:

Sounds like you found the whole thing (all 3 pieces). The belt clip, chain and pocket watch. That doesn't happen often.

Thanksgiving weekend is just around the corner.

Great finds CT! Sounds like you enjoyed your time off. Dig a few holes for us working stiffs.

That beltogram is one nice find, Tom!!
Smittyman garnered some good will with those permissions...........

Nice stuff Tom! Don't you just love how silver cleans up!? I use Simichrome polish...shines like a mirror! I use it on my silver jewelry finds and my non-key date silver coins...congrats...ddf

I like doing that to Smittyman. He said that people believe me, and get mad at him! Excellent!

Very nice. I found a sterling Hickok monogram belt buckle before as well. Found it at the farm where I have my best finds to date. I prob found 15 good keepers from that place. Including the Sears chief bicycle head plate
