Stay tuned - conclusion

Re: Stay tuned

I couldn't stand it! I would have to take the rest
of the day off and go through the bag(if I wasn't already retired, which
I am). Congrats on the Franklin!

I'm suddenly not feeling too well. I may have to go home and "rest" this afternoon. 8) 8)

Re: Stay tuned

Good luck and don't keep us in suspense.

Re: Stay tuned

The bag of $511 from the CU's coin counter didn't disappoint. I'm still amazed at all the variety you'll find in these bags.

There were five 90%ers (50d, 57dx2, 63d and a 64p), nine 40%ers (67x5, 58dx2, 69dx2) and an 00 proof I didn't have yet; for a total of fifteen keepers.

Additionally, there was a 1/2 balboa from Panama ('80), two 100 lire coins from Italy ('73 & '86), from Costa Rica a 20 colones ('83) and 100 colones ('99) coin and a car wash token.

Lastly, there was also thirty three US quarters and seven US cents.

Now, I've got to return the (half dollar) rejects over lunch and see how much I may have been shorted; for all the "extra" stuff that was in the bag.

Stay tuned (again).

Re: Stay tuned

I got a Franklin the first time out and haven't gotten another 90% in three months and only a small hand full of 40%'s.

Great haul.

Nice job Thurm! The bags are always interesting/surprise because you never know what you will get.

Keep plugging, but you....I know you will....ha!

Back from the dump bank.

The reject halves totaled $498.50. Add back the fifteen keepers and it comes to $506.00 Further add back the 33 US quarters and 7 US cents and it comes to $514.32 !

So, even if you discount the foreign currency, I actually paid less than face for those fifteen keepers !

Ya gotta love this hobby. 8) 8)
