WHAT KIND OF TREASURE ARE WE HUNTING TODAY ?
Detector(s) used
MINELAB E TRAC, EXCAL2,QUATTRO,WHITE 6000 DI PRO SL,EAGLE SPECTRUM,SILVER UMAX ,BANDIDO UMAX VARIOUS VINTAGE
well wondering again....and this world has too many questions and not enuf ansers.

thinkin on the values of what we find and the shrinking value of clad.

the obvious thing to do is hope to find more GOLD to boost the take.

HAS ANYONE OUT THERE EVER HAD THE GUTS TO TURN THE DISCRIM
WAY DOWN AND DIG EVERYTHING ..FOIL AND ABOVE. ? 4 EXTENDED TIME

if so how many gold items were detected.

i heard somewhere on here that the avg found mding is about 77 cents per hour,
my pers is a little better at about 1.03 per hr

i want to try this but i need a booster from someone whos been there
i just dont have the self discipline. after diggin much trash i get
impatient and turn the discrim up again.

I usually only hunt with my Disc all the way down. I've yet to pick up trash, and I've tested how far up I can put my Disc before my gold coin & ring are no longer picked up. I've yet to find gold while detecting, but I've picked up silver rings before. I think the amount of time put into detecting is the key to finding good items. But I believe you've gotta pick up alot of trash before you get the good stuff. I will "sometimes" kick my Disc up just a bit if I'm in a really trashy park...
As far as change is concerned, I can usually pick up around a dollar or more in change in an hour in a typical park... and even more on the beach.

I dig everything that is non-ferrous.

Don't worry about hour hourly "take." That doesn't matter one bit.

I Don't have stats And Since Location
is everything,

If you want to Find all Gold rings You need to find foil.
All Foil. Class rings you need to find Tabs & Nickels.

You want to up your odds You need
to search swimming pools & Beaches

Older Swimming Pools.

At least around here Pools are Becoming Passe
(I Hope I Spelled that Right :tongue3: )
And Children don't wear much Gold.

in the 50's through early 70's More Teens and adults
used Public Pools.

Silver; You don't need to find Much to
find Silver. But you must work Slow.

but Low Disc will Up Your Odds

all you realy need for Silver is a place where
People hung out, Played, or worked

in the mid 40's through the early 60's or before.
After World war 2 People Celebrated & Spent & Lost coins
Heavely

ALL of My Tiny Gold Engagement rings
with Keepsake Diamonds came up
as pieces of gum wrapper to my ears.

definately consider digging them.

if not always, at least if your
somewhere where people get wet
dig them.

Gold Chains are Just as Bad if not worse, When you
Do get a signal from them
because they only pick up one link
at a time.

& The Higher the Gold Content the Lower the Signal.

Low Gold content Rings Have other Metals
in them to help.

We dig everything and have done since day 1.
I have my ace set to jewelry which pretty much only removes the Iron. I dig a lot of foil and canslaw but we have found a fair few gold rings and chains.
