Today I found a button with the Star of David on the front. Does anyone know the age of anything about it please as I cannot find anything about it. Thanks IMG_0978.JPG

That's a nice find -- can you tell us anything about the site you found it in? Congrats!

1st - I noticed this was your very first post Beargrylls - so, Welcome Aboard! You didn't list your state (or country) in your profile. So, you might consider jumping over to Sub-Forums: Select Your Area.... and selecting location information (i.e., clubs, hunts, finds, legends, maps, etc.) directly related to your state (or country).

2nd - I moved your entry from Today's Finds! over to Our Discoveries > What Is It? for more exposure

To me it sort of looks like a shell casing that has been worn down and hand fashioned into a keepsake of sorts. That if the design wasn't in a raised bas relief form. It's non typical for a button though. I suggested a rivet on another thread. I was actually thinking more along the lines of a dungarees pants button. It's interesting for sure. Looks old. I like it.

It is the thumb wheel from an oil lamp wick adjuster, I have found them with identical design.
But Ive also found a pentagram button.....
http://www.treasurenet.com/forums/what/235199-pentagram-button-new-clue.html
the search box at upper right on every page is a powerful tool for identifying your own whatsits.
just the three words would show several relevant posts likely iding your recovery.
And Welcome to TreasureNet.
