You're abusing the meaning of the word cipher. A workable cipher is a strict formalism where there is a unique interpretation (deciphering) of it. You've already shown us a scheme where you are suggesting multiple subjective ways the information could be interpreted (i.e. 5 of this and 5 of that equals 55, or equilateral triangles that are to be treated as not having equal sides or conserved angles when treated as tetrahedron sides).

What you claim is that you hold the path of correct subjective takes that leads to an intended solution. Who will confirm that for you? You can't know this until it is confirmed for you, because many paths down your analysis road could be taken. That does not pass muster. The formalism in a cipher must lead to an unambiguous unique suggestion. For example, the 40 specific 90 foot stone characters suggestion at OI doesn't allow for that. There's not enough duplication in the characters to allow for a unique deciphering of it. When we effectively encrypt with ciphers there is a way to get back to the intended starting point. If we can produce multiple suggestions then we are in need of confirmation to rule any out. What you have is something in need of confirmation. So, don't speak of solutions leading to an answer.

Lastly, in the vein of this story, that half ashlar polished stone allegedly produced in 1803 is given to us in the legends as containing illegible hieroglyphs. You were given that suggestion at OI too. They are glyphs, and they are unintelligible. The stone in the legend stands testament to the unsolvable mystery associated with Enoch's shaft and vault. Sizzle, comedy aside, I believe you have a great deal of faith in your calculations and theories, and you also believe your results to be factual. You and SSR both have likely done a massive amount of research into your approach(s) for a solution, however none of us have done so, hence, the humor.

Personally, I believe someone, long, long ago, made up this entire scheme in order to keep people from finding the real site, somewhere else on the planet, where the treasure is actually buried. We'll never know.

The only celestial thing you have to hang your hat on empirically is that the Stone triangle pointer produced in ca1897 points to celestial N, so Polaris (Shortened Latin version of Stella Polaris). The "cones" that Nolan produced form a specific geometry and can be used in an arithmetic (like any numbers) if considered with 2 large immovable boulders that would suggest that someone, at some point, designed the relationship. We don't know that was ever executed by anyone specifically. Many things that are later inventions (Nolan produced this suggestion in the 1980s in the dying throes of that searcher era ) have been suggested to us as being present. As far as I know, only Peter Amundsen has tried to confirm what Nolan measured and related it back to us. The suggestion speaks to us of a simple line/cross inclined by a specific number of degrees to the road that bisects the island and the E-W heading. Both these numbers are neat and round numbers. That's very good evidence that the cross, if real, relates to the surveying of 1762 and nothing else. We can account for the dimensions displayed in the cross suggestion by simple geometry using the first great mathematical theorem known to anyone. Plugged into it we can deduce that its inclination is doing two things: It's giving you a great circle heading that points impressively to Jeruslaem (not something possible before the 1750s when this area was first charted precisely), and it's giving you a proportion:inclination relationship that relies on dividing a base line in 2 in two sections (4:6, as echoed in the triangle pointer.

There's a curious interrelationship between "discovered" features that we can show to knowledge of the main road heading. That's problematic to anyone who thinks any of that is old, because there's no way Morris surveyed and randomly fell on something that was determined a thousand years earlier. His choice was informed only his desire to have that road be a certain amount of degrees from magnetic North in 1762. That appears to also be a nice round number as the lot boundary headings are approximately 20 degree NE of the 1762 N Magnetic heading. This we can easily tease out of the early Shoreham grant surveys we have.

As far as I'm concerned there's nothing missing and we have no need of ancient treasure stories that reinvent history. There's a curious blend of required talent to survey at OI and a desire to tell a story that exists in 1762 and 1980. The story is allegorical, though. You can stop the historical inquiries at that point. Nothing at OI is working to prove myths are real. It is supposed to work for you to reconsider the stories and the morality tales. The last thing that is desired is for someone to dig a hole there and lose his life unnecessarily in the quest for what no one can even understand or point to.

What does it mean to search for something you cannot even name? And yet, that's exactly what has happened there. That's been the consequence of butting up to a presented mythology and trying to deny that it is that. "It must mean something" is the wrong conclusion. If you believe that it must mean something then that is exactly like thinking there's some detail to "excavate" in your own life that will explain the origin of everything. There isn't. We are stuck in a mystery in this life of ours. What Philipps and Morris were peddling was faith of the British Protestant variety. Those doubting Thomases who think they will get to the secret by digging holes in a quest for the ark or the grail or the stone that predicts the Second coming should also be fine marks to target for a share offering. The moral of the story is: don't give your money to people selling you a story of a dig for religious treasures that will confirm things for you tat you might desperately already believe, and don't lose the treasure looking for a vastly less worthwhile treasure.

If anything is talking to you and asking you to present it to the world that's not a good omen.

That's not what Robert S. Young, who knew Fred ,would tell you. What Robert knew is that Fred was obsessed with clearing ground on that heading and surveying more in order to find a relationship to things surveyed earlier by others. This would not need to happen if he was simply fine with inventing an artifact of interest. His own stated belief in this feature being related to a British military surveying is also not consistent with him just inventing it unless he faked that interest. There is such a thing as inventing shit up, but then there is the work of actually living out the consequences of that sort of suggestion. Who does that? Who lives their lives as if what they invented was real? That seems preposterous as a way to explain it away. You or I might create a fiction about a gold mine on our properties, but why on Earth would we then spend time actually researching the possibility of it being true. I think it is pretty clear that, at the very least, Nolan believed he found an alignment.

Dan wasn't getting all the attention at that time. Tobias was gone. Thing shad grinded to a halt. There was no money left. Everyone was facing the prospect of not having their treasure licenses renewed. If you were old enough and from the area you might remember, as I do, how often we got to read headlines that said that Blankenship was very near to the end goal (what he couldn't even specify). Blankenship was actually the one playing the press. The Government understood that there was nothing there, but it served everyone's interest to pretend that there was. If they were going to extend Anyone's treasure license they wanted to at least have good public visibility for doing so, because there have always been people wanting that island left alone (especially after it being turned into a large garbage dump that I remember seeing when I went there in the early 80s).

Reality is not easily explained away in a sentence that involves simple reasonable sounding relationships. The reality is always much more complex. Your theory stems from the fact that when Nolan was hired to survey for Dan he discovered that Dan's deeds did not include some land that he promptly went and claimed for himself. That land happens to have that cross on it. Nolan's discovery of it may have been part of the surveying he was paid to do or it may have been done afterwards. He is more or less forced to only be able to discover things on his land by surveying, seeing that Dan would never have allowed him to set foot on his. The fact the discovery is on Nolan's land is not evidence of a fraud.

Amundsen is a flake, true. There's no tree of life there. He's seeing things he has an interest in saying are there to serve his Baconian theories about religious relics being buried on OI. That does not make anything about Nolan be guilty by association, or Amundsen's secondary surveying of no use to us . People who had theories that predate Amundsen's (which are similar) are Berry McKaig and Leonnel Strong. When you look at those you can see that all are really twirling around something that they can't quite finger an explanation for. They are tryin to fit OI into other things that might work to give a rationale for anything being there.
