star bill question

Hi, I work at a casino and have access to star bills. I know low serial nubers or patterns might sell. Is there any others I can cherry pick that might be worth something. We used to find red seals but havn't see any in years. It was nice when we used to have coin, we could hear the silver halfs dropping out of the chutes. Happy hunting!!! Thanks for any advice!!

I suggest you either buy or obtain from your local library a book entitled "The Official Red Book of United States Paper Money" by Arthur L and Ira S. Friedberg.
With that source nearby, you can quickly check the relative value of any star bill. If you do not wish to be so obvious, you may wish to copy certain pages from that source and bring only those pages to your work.

Thanks that was what i was looking for! It will be a standard reference that our count team will use! Breaks up the monotony looking for something!

Keep an eye out as well for the many errors that are out there. Too many to name here, but using the reference guide mentioned by Mackaydon and a simple google search will give you some good ideas. You are not likely to see many really old notes still in circulation as they are actually pulled from circulation and destroyed. Many people don't realize that FED branches across the country destroy millions of dollars a day in damaged/soiled notes. Modern errors however, can be exceedingly valuable. For instance, a note that has a $20 printing on the face and a $10 printing on the back. Good luck!
