Well, I was cleaning up one of the minies that I found from my last hunt when I realized that I had found

a Washington Arsenal. These "Star Based" minies used by the Union are getting harder to find....I know MM found one a couple

of weeks ago which was cool:wink:.... I was excited and pleasantly surprised as I have only a handful of these.

I tried to get the best pics I could, and you will notice that the star is not as articulated on this minie as well

as some are on others...Just varies from minie to mine. Attached some pics below, hope y'all like

I don't know anything about civil war bullets but I take you word as a better expert than me. Nice find

Hey, brotha, you always find the good stuff! You know how to put the "R" in research and the "S" in skill. I hope you get many more before 2009 comes about.

Keep hitting that VA soil with the CW passion!

Nice find. I have never found one of those. It is on my wish list.

Thanks Josh for the lesson. I guess i'm not up to speed on my mini ball identification. It looks like you are good at your particular niche.

Congrat's on the WA Josh...Once you start cleaning out the base you can tell because the base is a little deeper than your average .58.My area seem's to have it's pretty good share, every second hunt we'll usually pick one up.....Nice Dig Buddy!!!

Thanks  Yeah, there are probably more in that area around Antietam, the bloodiest battle of the War where so many men fought and died

Very Cool recovery sentinel! I would love to find one of those here in Texas.....

Keep safe...

I'd hate to think what's actually sitting in the NPS Battlefield.....Still don't understand that :icon_scratch:

We will bud. The best part of the detecting season is coming so we will get together and do some hunting!

Josh,
Congrats Buddy on a super bullet!!!
You mentioned:

If you are referring to me (MM), I wish I had found one of those. :o Mine so far have only been three Enfields with a "57" inside.
I'm not giving up though.
Way to go Big Guy.
