Wow! I found the match for this several years ago in central NM. Mine didn't have leather or the remains of the spur wheel. My Dad was envious so he has it now. Congrats!

i found it about 15 mins into the hunt , find of the day. thanks all it is in great shape though bent a bit has ornate designs beneath the spur

ha ha close i did find a shoe buckle in the same hole and a horseshoe, spur was about 2 inches

Nice! Never thought about finding one of those. I watched an American Pickers episode a year ago where they found some rare and very expensive spurs. It depends on the maker.
