I took my mom metal detecting this morning but when we got to the field they were planting it. So I took her to a field where I hunted on my lunch breaks for a couple years, didnt think there was going to be anything there but after about 1 1/2 hours later my mom says I think I found something good and shows me a cut Spanish silver 2 reale I think. Around 10 minutes later I get my oldest coin a 1730 KGII in good shape. I got one button and one musket ball and my mom got a button before we left. There wasnt to much there but it was good finds. HH!

no problem, that farthing is in great shape.. the pistareens were actually minted in Spain and brought here as opposed to the later milled spanish being mostly from Peru, Bolovia, Mexico, etc. take care :hello: Jeff

Nice finds :icon_thumleft: looks like mom is good luck ;D

Spanish silver is always a good day, as is your other coin which it a contemporary counterfeit King George II Halfpenny. Someone really tried to cheat that one, or it at least ended up that way.

great finds!!!!! MR TUFF

what are we saying iron patch! its a m mills variety? willy

No, just a British counterfeit. The planchet is much too small. Here's what it should look like.

It looks like nice sandy soil, which is easy on those coppers! Nice digs for sure. Both coins are real beauties!
