After finding the Two Shillings piece at the field yesterday I decided to head back today and sift through the trashy area of it with my smaller 6x8 SEF coil. Right off the bat I hit a nice 1911 wheatie. Followed throughout the hunt by 3 more. Hit one flat button toward the end, but what made my hunt special today was finding a 1/4 cut piece of what I believe is a Philip V 2 Reale or Pistareen. I'm not sure what the difference is between the two. The piece weighs 1.23g and has a rough radius of 14mm...Making the diameter approx 28mm. If anyone has any more info on this piece to help ID it I would appreciate it. I'm thinking it was made 1700-1746? Does this sound right? I'll let the experts help me with the date. Thanks everyone!

Happy Hunting!

I don't know about that, but I know what "Philiipus, Carolus, Hispaniarum and Rex" mean. I've seen those words a few times lately! :)
