Spanish mound

If so, one story goes like this: In the mid 1700's Spaniards camped near Keremeos Creek for the winter. A fight happened and several Indians were killed and captured. After a miserable winter the Spaniards returned the way they they had come. The Natives were aware of their movement and attacked in retaliation while most of the Spaniards were sleeping; killing them all. The Chief determined that they were bad luck & ordered every thing buried; including a 35X 75 foot wood structure. This burial place is known as the "Lost Spanish Mound".
