Another Update...

Skeleton remains found on island are thought to be very old, skeleton was 1st thought to be a women due to its small size, however turned out to be a man.

You're doing what we all hope to be doing!
so go and find something and take lots of pictures
to inspire the rest of us who are too cheap and lazy
to get off our butts and have a real adventure

Good Luck

You know how some expeditions hit a snag?
Well I think I hit one, ... or maybe 3...
I was suppose to be saving up for a 4WD to get myself to the spot of interest... well I sorta blew the money on a engagement ring and decided to marry my girl friend of 5yrs (yeah I know... I took my time :D) ..... and that wasn't just my 4WD money.... but my new metal detector money too...

You must be thinking that's only 2 snags so far... well the 3rd is the weather, I've booked a ride to the island but every weekend I want to go Mr Weather man says its going to be raining all day with storms. :( but he lies!!! >:( the weather turns out to be fine!!!

But I've worked out a way around the whole 4WD thing, now I'm faced with a 2mile trek through sand in 100 degree heat. So when I finally get there I'll take photos oh the terrain where I think it is and hopefully maybe someone can spot something and give me a hint or two to follow up.

This tread is very interesting to read. I hope you find what you are looking for.

Tommi,

Congrats on the engagement... I'm sure your site will still be there when you get your equipment.

You pulled a distant memory from the crevice of my brain. I don't remember where, but I played on a beach when I was VERY young and remember the Ribs of a ship being there sticking out of the sand. I remember being told it was an old ship but don't remember more... I'll have to remind the relatives and get more info on that...

Anyway, Mother Nature takes away and puts back the sand on regular basis. They just got done "replenishing" the beach where I live since the storms from the last few years have carved them out pretty good. They talk of treasure being in the desert one day only to be "lost" or covered up the very next day... so I'm sure the beach would do the same. I'm sure you've seen the result of the many storms and the tsunami and how boats land inland of up to 10 miles or so, so I can imagine that sort of thing I'm sure has happened in the past.

Lots of Luck! Not just with your expedition, but you're engagement! Maybe she'll catch the bug and help you with your efforts...

Kat ;D

Thanks for the reply Kat and zilch, and Kat, thanks for the best wishes with the engagement. 8)

My update on my progress is nothing to really post about.... nothing has happened lately due to other commitments.

Did you have any luck finding more info about the ship on the beach Kat?

A) Heheheheh tell me about that tommi. I have done the same thing, concentrating on tayopa and a Bride..

My ship still waits for me also, and prob. never Will be salvaged unless someone follows up on my notes in the future. My family prob won't.

That makes 5 ships that I know of that will drop from sight when I go to the happy hunting grounds, never be salvaged, sigh , such is the life of a treasure hunter, too many projects.
