Spanish Breastplate?

Am here in central coast of Calif. Dug this out in field down maybe 9’. I don’t know anything about spanish crosses or breastplates. Only guessing. Any opinions. Thank you. Gary

looks like cast iron to me. I would lean more towards it being a broken part of a cast iron stove
