Hi,

This is what I found yesterday. Does anybody have an idea how much this is worth?

Thank you guys! Yes, it is nice but I just keep the gold coins =)

Wow you find an 8 and all we get is “what’s it worth?”

Where was it found (ground, Coin Shop, Collection, Yard Sale, etc.)? The rim and some of the details look a little funny to me.

Sorry, haha I found it on a beach in NJ. I mean, I really like it Dirtwisher but I already found more gold coins than silver coins so I am just trying to figure out the value of this one. Thank you for the positive feedback!

"but I already found more gold coins than silver coins"

We all wish we had that problem! Welcome to the Treasure Net Forums!

Wow, you are having some amazing luck. Between this 8 reale and your Gold 8 Escudo you are knocking it out of the park. Can't wait to see more of your finds.

:headbang:
I am not asking for specific locations of finds but are these finds of yours on permissions or public lands?
Have you sent Garrett pictures? Quite a testimonial for the 400.
"More gold coins that silver" Kuddos to that!

All public areas. I don't search on private land. Thank you very much!

If you can afford keeping the gold coins, why can't you do the same for a much less valuable silver one?

@Aureus: It's the divestiture aversion that gold creates!

Great Spanish Reale 8
Still on my Bucket list
congratulation
Happy Treasure Hunting

Beware of the fantasy issues with the chop marks on the pillars. I've seen these all over ebay. I'm not saying yours is, just passing on some info. Take a look a the chops and then look at these listings:

https://www.ebay.com/itm/1794-SPAIN...D&orig_cvip=true&rt=nc&_trksid=p2047675.l2557

https://www.ebay.com/itm/1794-SPAIN...855561?hash=item1ca5aff189:g:qHIAAOSwg3NanBuJ

There are other issues with the coin such as the matching die break "thingy" on "8R" but comparing yours with the 2 listings above really shows you all you need to know.
