There is never enough room when we head out on our adventures. Prospecting gear, metal detectors, and camping gear all add up. I wanted a way to camp in the back up my truck, but didn't want to take up all the space I need for gear. The idea for a drop down bunk came from remembering my grandma's drop leave table. Now I have plenty of space to sleep, but also have plenty of room for all my gear. 
I have a video of the build in case you might want to make one for yourself. It's cheap and easy. (both good in my view).
