Hey fellow hunters! I just pulled my sov elite outta storage and get back into hunting the First Coast again. I ran into a little snag... the coil cable outer jacket is falling off in small pieces, as if its rotting/dried out. The cables inside are in solid and intact. Would I be good by just wrapping it with some electrical tape just to get by? If the cable is a replaceable unit i can buy one later. My machine is stock with stock 10" coil. Thanks for all the advice in advance.

what yo suggested is good. wrap it with electrical tape.

It's been taped up for weeks now, and no problems. I did notice that the cable is not removable from the coil, so I guess it's time for a new shallow water coil.

Do not put it in water if insulation is bad, water will travel up the inside of the cable and get to your controls and mess them up, especially if it's saltwater...

We will NOT go quietly into the night!
