Picked these up this spring from my favorite site. The little pink guy is a re-based tip. I just love finding those kind of points. The knife river flint traveled at least a couple hundred miles to get here.

Nice finds would you call the two KRF Points pelican lake

Some nice looking finds! Some beautiful material out your way.

Thanks!

I myself wouldn't assign a name to them other than corner or side notched points in this part of the state, but one of them would pass for one just about anywhere.

and, I should add that the other would likely fall into the prairie side notch category.

Yessir, it sure is some fine material. It was highly prized and used wisely evidently. Just about every flake I pick up ( and I pick up every one of them I see) shows sign of use or alteration no matter how small. I am dissapointed we don't find more, but at the same time happy I find what I do if you know what I mean.

Three nice finds, and yes, like other high grade Plains lithics KRF was carried long distances. We have found a number of KRF artifacts 550 miles south of the N. Dakota source.
