Sooo.....what do YOU think 2012 will bring?

you're right KK, from what I've read, the stars were used for a lot things back besides navigation.

I can see where af1733 is coming from too, and now that I think about it, they're not the only ones by a long shot to have predicted the "end is near", and I'm going to have to agree, that we shouldn't take it too far or read too much into it.

My answer to people who worry about the Mayan prophecies and the 2012 end is not to worry
about 2012, our calendar runs out on Dec 31!
For the rest of us, good detecting in 2010!

When you really stop and think about it, 2012 will bring natural disasters, death and destruction.

There will be natural disasters, just like always.
People will die, just like always.
Things will be destroyed, just like always.

Maybe the Mayans were right after all??

If we believe the astronomers, theres more in store than the usual. Maybe not death and destruction, but some pretty rare and strange things. These things mean something.

Rare and unusual things ?? In 1900 who would have thought of airplanes, men on the moon, CT scans, cell phones, a cure for polio, computers, "reality TV :sleepy2: " ?? OK, maybe "reality TV" in a bad dream. Most of all rare and unusual things were unthought of a few years ago. The rate things are being developed now who knows what will come in the next few years. At least there will be some new elections, I hope. Maybe I'll still be alive and reasonably healthy. But all in all I think the Mayans just ran out of rocks to carve on.

PS: When the BIG earthquake comes California will stay put and the rest of us will probably slide into the Atlantic with our luck. My crystal ball (another "detecting device") told me that. Or was it the tea leaves?????

I was referring to what the astronomers say. According to them, rare events will occur.

Rare and unusual in what time concept? 2 yrs, 10yrs, 100, 1000, 1,000,000, 1,000,000, 1,000,000,000.... etc. The sky, the stars, the Universe has been there a looooooong time. Every second of time there is a new arangement overall. Its always rare and unusual.

Heck, I can't even trust my tea leaves anymore..... LOL

They (astronomers) say that things will happen that only happens every 25 or 26,000 years. That don't sound like the everyday happenings.

Will it be the end of the earth? No. But it MIGHT be the end of SOMETHING. I don't know.

Probably nothing, just like the whole Y2K hype. The 'end of the world' believers help boost retail sales, (stock up and dig a bunker) but I really think its just going to be another day in another year. If I am wrong, so be it....I've led a GREAT life.

You're using a pretty wide brush there, aren't you?

Perhaps a solar tsunami????

Look back in time...it happened around 1859 (?)

So the Mayan, as with many ancients knew planetary energy and I'm sure they were acutely aware of the 11 yr. solar cycle. Perhaps they didn't fully embrace or understand it, but they knew 'it' existed.

I think Venus has a part in this as well, their calendar was, I think, Venus cycle based (inner planet action as opposed to Uranus' vibe).
Ooo-- and there's a rare Venus cycle happening in June 2012 (?) I believe.
Venus has an 8 yr. cycle/orbit that resembles a pentagram. The last "kick ass" Venus conjunction was in 2004.

Again, I go back to solar activity, but feel it'll peak in 2013, not 2012.

It will bring 12 months and alot of killings

No predictions here, but an active imagination. Seems to me that Dec 21, 2012 is less than a couple of months from the national election. Here the imagination takes over. What if the then sitting president, decided to declare martial law, due to the developing chaos within the country, postponed the national elections (he wasn't gonna win, you know) until such a time as he could re-establish a stable government. How long do you suppose it would take the grass roots to go completely and absolutely ballistic (pun intended) in retaliation? Seems to me it might take about 49 days or so............ :)

As Pogo says or used to say: "We have met the enemy and he is us!"

Food for thought, and terribly unrealistic I know................ :) But if were going to talk conspiracy theory lets wrap it all together and dump it on the table so anyone can examine it.

Are we headed for chaos? Do you all feel, as I do, that it might even be inevitable? Are you preparing? Those that are preparing should NOT share their views, or their circumstances. People who are prepared will be the secondary targets after stores and distribution centers are completely looted.

I personally am not preparing, I have lived a reasonably long and fruitful life.

The vast majority of young folks who could benefit from preparing have no clue about survival or personal protection against people they know. They will simply be victims of the chaos, almost not even participants.

Ex-military have perhaps the greatest chance of making it to the other side of chaos, as order comes about for lack of additional targets and the population dwindles through starvation to a level that the planet can sustain them without significant effort.

Talk about a more natural life.....

I'm sure that Plehbah has some relevant comments to this type of post, if only he will share............. Be blessed!

Nah the users of this thread have gone on a very long coffee brake! ;D

I'm wondering why so many people want to skip 2010-2011 and live in 2012 first and miss two years of treasure hunting fun.
It's OK to plan for the future but don't forget to take a little bit of time to enjoy the present time also. :icon_jokercolor: :walk: :wav: :occasion14:

:icon_thumleft: I AGREE! Be "here... NOW". WORRYING about 2010 MAY cause PREMATURE panic, depression, etc. (blowing RASPBERRY... BE HERE NOW!). :icon_thumleft:

Well we all survived Y2K,and everybody thought it was gonna cause all kinds of madness. :headbang: :headbang:
