There are times when all we really want is just to
get away from the world for a while.

Finally! A day with a bit of sun!

Along the way, the Lord provided some much
needed giggles too!

You see that edge of that "plate" in this pic?
That is what I saw in a very deep hole after
going thru a scenario that went something like this:
First I had to back up a few steps to pick my headphones back up.
Then, after saying, "Can......" and digging about a foot, I said,
"DEEP %^@#$&#*@ can......" ;)
I continued and saw that edge. It was flat, square, and not iron!
I said, "Plate?!?!?!"
I finally got it out and had to laugh. Well, I wasn't TOO far wrong. LOL

It IS made in the USA......so......USA Plate??? ;)

HE even gave me one of the rarest of animals
at the mansion. A coin!! LOL

Yeah, rather sparse finds, but even the big iron washer made
me smile today. It was a perfect walk. One I needed.

Thanks for peeking!

By the by, why is it that the only thing Garrett about you is your name? :icon_scratch:

Garrett is my first born son's middle name. I always loved the name and like it so much I use it for myself occasionally. When He was born I created an email account under the name "RJGarrett" (after both he and myself) and I've used it on and off ever since.

When I first got into detecting I wasn't even aware that there was a detector company by the same name. the only other Garrett I had ever heard of was the old time word for an attic. I knew nothing whatsoever about "real" metal detectors.

I started completely green with a 30 dollar Tracker IV I found on Craigslist. Before that the only detector I had ever used was a REALLY cheap Micronta 4003 from Radio Shack that my ex wife bought me when we first got together. It was great for things like manhole covers, galvanized trash can lids and old cars. That Tracker IV upgrade was just fantastic at the time. I still have it.
I guess I've come a long way since then....

I see. Well, you weren't alone in that start. This was my first detector. LOL

RADIOSHACKMETALDETECTOR.jpg

It was soooooo unstable that the only way I could get any use out of it was to keep one thumb on the turning knob so I could re-tune it whilst I swung! LOL

It's always about the walk and that dream of finding a couple dozen gold coins waiting for us in our next hole we dig. Lol

....That and it's cheaper than a therapist. :)
