The Stanley family, of whom Seth Stanley was the pioneer head, settled in the town in 1796, and the locality afterwards became known as Stanley's Corners, while the still later station and railroad junction are known as "Stanley's."

I've been through there a few thousand times. I just got my Ace250 for Xmas and plan on hitting a lot of these small towns around here later this summer. Anybody care to join me ??? Seneca Falls is a great old town.
FYI... The bridge scene from "It's a wonderful life" was filmed in Seneca Falls.
