Hello all,,,
I got a small "what's it" for ya. My only guess would be some sort of key for something. It was found in a local park at a depth of about 6" down. It's made of brass and measures ( 2-3/8" in length x 1-3/16" wide ). The small shaft on end measures, ( 9/16" in length x 1/4" in dia. ).

There are (2) small pins sticking out, about 1/16", from the shaft on the end that are slightly offset from each other. They don't look to be broken off and are probably close to the original length...

A few other angles...

This piece looks oddly familiar, but I can't place it...
Any help would be greatly appreciated,
Thanks Leon...

Looks more Like for a Fence Cable.

Maybe even for Electric Fencing.

Was the Park originally a Pasture ?

Thanks for the replies guys...
Sorry it took me so long to get back to this post, I almost forgot about it... :P

Was the Park originally a Pasture ?
I suppose it was farm land, or pasture, at one time, but it had to have been many years ago...
The park is one of the biggest here in town and part of it was once home of the Indianapolis Zoo... I found the piece about 200 yards from where the zoo once sit, so I guess it could have been used there for something... I can't really see how it could be used for a fence, other than a cable running through the large hole in the center, as it seems to have inserted into something and I would think if it were used for a fence it would simply have screw threads on the end to be screwed into the post?

Again,, Thanks for the replies...
Have a great day, Leon...

Someone posted a similar item and it was solved as a gas key or lamp lighter. It only took 3-1/2 years. :D
