Hello everybody!
First and foremost I gotta thank everybody for the wealth of information provided on this forum. I have enjoyed reading through the many posts on this website and hope to contribute myself when I get out do some more digging!
My girfriend bought me an ace 250 two weeks ago and I feel like I've learned the machine pretty well (with a lot of help from this site of course.) After a few local park hunts I have accumulated a nice bit of clad as well as a few wheaties dating back to 1917, which I dug today.
I live in the suburbs just outside of Philadelphia and my area is rich in history pertaining to the Revolutionary War. I'm not far from Valley Forge Park which was where the Continental Army took up a winter encampment back in 1777-78.
Anyways most of the area is highly develped so its gonna be a bit of a challenge to find some good relics but I look foreward to it. I went out today and was pleasently suprised at how my machine performed.
I had some pretty cool finds today so I figured I'd post the pics:
The 6 wheaties are from two local parks earlier in the week and the 1917 I found in the woods today.
also from today:
misc shotgun shells
some old barbed wire and nails
a gun barrel
a button (pic)
and a horseshoe
I was excited to find the gun and even more happy when I dug the horseshoe which was way deep.
My ultimate goal is to find something directly related to GW's army so hopefully I'll have something good to report in the next few hunts!
thanks, Ben
