Folks,
Smokey graciously invited me back to a great permission somewhere north of the Mason Dixon line (we were all led there with hoods over our heads which made driving extremely difficult). Though the first one-inch layer was frozen solid, that did not keep the group from killing it with some awesome finds. Wish I had pics of some of the other stuff (but that would give away GPS coordinates and we do not want to do that) but typical CW knapsack stuff, minie balls, 18th and 20th century silver (including some seated dimes/half dimes and an 1834 Capped Bust dime, and well as some early barber halves and quarters), minie balls galore, an Eagle breastplate, Eagle buttons, a small pistol trigger, and other misc great finds were dug. I had my typical modest finds after I decided to stop trying to dig up the gas line that runs through the property. Rang up a solid 93 for about 50 yards in either direction. Got some minie balls at .53 and .58 plus the odd .44 I haven't ID'd yet. Capped it off by plucking an 1875 IHP out of the soybean stems on my way back to the car. Could only manage one silver merc, so I missed out on the silver rush. Oh well... Great hunt with some great folks. Thanks Smokey!
Everyone is going to just have to tilt their heads sideways because I like portrait orientation and am not going to try to figure out whey the site wants to make everything landscape. Lol.
BTW - Exclusively used the Deus with the 9" round coil - primarily used my "Hot" program to search which is full tones and no disc at 14 khz. Rx at 2.5 and GB Tracking
